Hire rates, branch by branch
Each branch sets its own rates. The longer the hire, the lower the cost per day. Figures are starting rates per machine, per day.
Weekly and monthly rates are on each branch page. What a rate covers — delivery, operator, fuel, insurance — is set out on the written quote from that branch.

MCM Group also sells these machines, so this is not a sales pitch for hiring. It depends on how many days a year the machine will work.

About rates
How much does it cost to hire heavy equipment in South Africa?
At MCM Sales & Rentals, rates start from R3,500 per day, R18,000 per week and R55,000 per month, per machine. Each branch sets its own rates, and larger machines and specialist attachments cost more. The written quote from your branch gives the exact rate for the machine and period you need.
Why do rates differ between branches?
Each branch — Cape Town, George, Bloemfontein and Midrand — runs its own hire fleet, so the machines on offer, their rates and what is available today differ from branch to branch. Choose the branch nearest your site to see its figures.
What does the hire rate include?
Your written quote lists exactly what the rate covers for your job. Delivery and collection, an operator, fuel and insurance depend on the machine, the site and the hire period, so each is stated on the quote rather than assumed.
Is weekly or monthly hire cheaper?
Yes. Weekly hire costs less per day than the daily rate, and monthly hire has the lowest cost per day. If you are unsure how long the job will run, ask the branch to quote the options side by side.
Do you offer long-term or fleet rates?
Yes. Hire of several machines, or of one machine for several months, is quoted as a package by the branch. Choose “Multiple / Fleet Rental” on the quote form.
